Mayor, council seats up for grabs Nov. 2

Those who want to be mayor of Sherwood or are seeking a spot on the Sherwood City Council have until Aug. 13 to apply.

The two-year term of Mayor Keith Mays will be up at the end of the year as well as those of the following city council members and their respective positions: No. 1 held by Councilor Dave Heironimus, No. 2 held by Councilor Dave Grant and No. 3 held by Councilor Lee Weislogel.

All council positions are for four-year terms.

To be eligible to run for election to the council, a candidate must be a registered voter who is at least 18 and has lived in Sherwood for at least 12 months.

Also, applicants must either pay a $10 filing fee, or in lieu of the filing fee, submit a petition for candidacy signed by 10 registered voters.

Application packets are available online or from the city recorder’s office at Sherwood City Hall, 22560 S.W. Pine St.

Return deadline is Aug. 13 at 5 p.m.
